Misleading Information

I hope this email finds you well.

I only became aware that I owe SARS funds for the outstanding year 202 on 16 January 2025.

Last year July, I went to do my tax return at the SARS branch at Liberty Promenade.

The lady that assisted me, said I do not owe anything and that I am owed a R0.81.

This year January I again went to the branch to update my tax return and to reactivate my mobile app as I was locked out/user does not exist and it came at a huge shock to me that I owe SARS R2500.

I put in a dispute and it has come back that I owe a value of nearly R3000.

I am not tech savvy, however if your staff member stated last year that I had an unpaid tax submission for 2023 then I would have made arrangements in October to pay that amount.

I am only able to pay in October the full amount, as I do not have the funds to pay at this time.

Also your staff should be graceful and not tell clients that we should no to do our tax return.
