Should make SARS horrible customer service trend on Social Media. Banking details verification apparently is completed within 21 working days. In my case it is now past 21 working days and my banking verification is still in process. How is that possible. I called in numerous times to ask when the bank verification is complete, the consultants just keep saying they will escalate it to the relevant department. I don’t think anything gets escalated coz I am still waiting on feedback. I also had to deal with rude consultants that I had to beg for basic assistance coz they are full of moods and just blatantly lazy to do their jobs and assist. SARS need to train their consultants properly when it comes to customer service and etiquette. Another thing that is obvious is, Banking verification only takes forever when SARS has to pay out a refund. When the client has penalties and owes SARS, then everything is done quickly and they then proceed to threaten and harass the client(tax payer). They need to be made famous on social media and held responsible for their bad customer service. SARS is a public, government entity and should do much better……
