*********** SARS employees
I app**** for a reactivation of an income tax number for my sister who now resides in Australia. When I went to SARS with a legal Australian power of attorney document I was told that the copy of my address had expired and had to get a new one, so I went to the bank and returned to SARS. I saw a different consultant who told me to complete a form go back to the queue and get another number which I did. I saw the same consultant and then was told that they need a copy of her marriage certificate. I went back the next day with a copy of the marriage certificate only to be told that they need a printed copy from Home Affairs. I went to Home Affairs got the printed copy of the marriage certificate went back to SARS only to be told they need my sisters proof of address in Australia. I got 2 different documents from her with her proof of address. Went back to SARS and was assisted and all the documents was scanned onto their system and was told that I could follow up in 7 days. When I phoned I was told that they could not assist me as there was no power of attorney form giving me permission to follow up on this case. I sent the document to my sister who completed it and I uploaded it onto the SARS system, received an email informing me that the document was uploaded successfully. I followed up today and was told that they received the power of attorney and it will take 21 days from then for the reactivation. Why do companies keep on employing these *********** workers
