I work for a tax practitioner in Durban and in the course of my work submit various returns on behalf of clients to sars on their efiling system .suddenly yesterday the system wont allow the return to be e filed unless the practitioner accepts liability for any shortfalls in any taxes that the client may incur .I think this is totally absurd . If they want the taxpayer to accept the liability then that declaration should form part of return and not in its present form where the practitioner has to agree to accept the liability otherwise the system wont allow the return to be submitted
