Deplorable service by SARS

I am writing this e mail with a bleeding heart from the experience subjected to me by a state institution called SARS.I have a company that has been inactive the previous financial year and wanted to reactivate my tax status to obtain a tax clearance certificate. I first visited the SARS branch in Horizon shopping centre sometime last month and was informed they cant help me due to covid 19 restrictions and can do that myself from e filing. I tried that but was unsuccessful. From then on began a marathon of phone calls to SARS call centre but recieved no assistance. I eventually secured a virtual appointment for the 07/10/2020 that day came and went without a call or an sms. When i call the call centre i would sometimes hold on for about 90-100 minutes and end up being cut off, when you select an option to be called backwhoever makes a call back will just make the phone to ring once then cut the call and that its.

I have struggled until i eventually made contact with a tax consultant who charged me R500.00 for filing returns on my behalf and obtaining the tax clearance pin. My gripe is SARS is behaving like they are the only department affected by covid 19 and their service as well as attitute they displayed towards me is totally unacceptable, infact it is deplorable.

This service was a task that was supposed to be carried out by SARS free of charge but because of their care free attitude i had to pay and therefore i want SARS to refund me the R500.00 that i paid willy nilly because of their laziness.

On Tuesday,13/10/2020 i recieved a call from Nokuthula from SARS,despite even having sent an email to *** detailing my gripe with them, she was cluesless as to why she is calling me.I Want answers and will not rest until this matter has been resolved.
