Deducted amount owing from my calculated refund that I haven't received yet !!

<p>I owed SARS R692 from 2016...on 31 July I e-filed my 2017 return and based on the calculated refund it would cover the outstanding R690. Within seconds I received my IT34 with the calculated refund and a notification of documents for review (my IRP5..why I don't know as i copied it from the SARS website anyway) So i uploaded my IRP5 - status changed to submitted.</p> <p>Today I call the 0800# to enquire on the refund turnaround time, previously it was within 2 days...</p> <p>Listen to this: the calculated refund amount is now R690 less which means that SARS already deducted the amount owed in 2016 - EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY THE REFUND IS NOT A GIVEN, EVEN THOUGH THE DOCUMENT THEY REQUESTED FOR REVIEW IS STILL IN "PENDING STATUS" AND I'M TOLD IT TAKES 30 DAYS TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS. BUT SARS DEDUCTED MONEY FROM A REFUND PROCESS THAT'S NOT YET COMPLETE !!!</p> <p>That is low & absolutely disgusting - the same way ******* politicians run each other over in the rush to ***** before there's nothing left. </p> <p>Tom Moyane inherited a sterling institution and turned it into his personal pit latrine.
