Complaint

My Dad was to receive R70000 from his retirement annuity from Old Mutual. Then SARS issued a IT88 instructing Old Mutual to pay R58767.91. He than went to GEPF they provided him with a statement showing the RA was already taxed when his pension was paid out in 2007. He than went back to SARS and submitted the statement from GEPF , the consultant advised him to draft a letter and send it to SARS as this was a mistake made by SARS. On the 12 September he received a statement of account showing they over taxed him by R594 on the R58767.91 which was paid into his account on the 22 September. No mention of what happened with the rest of the money. His been unemployed since 2007 and has not received any communication about this but since than interest was charged amounted to R24230.80 Really no is this fair. Case : ********** 50
