Case closed without consultation.
Good Day I'm a widow and I would like hello Peter to assist me with my case. I received a letter dated February 2019 but I received it in April 2019 brougt by a person who bought my previous house as it was asent to the previous address. The letter required me to submit liquidation and first and final distribution account for my late husband Zakhele Meshack Masango. I went to SARS since I didn't know what was that and where to obtain it. I was advised to get a lawyer to assist me. I went to the lawyers that helped with letter of authority but they gave me run arounds and I then decided to get another lawyer. He then explained to me that it was a lengthy process to obtain that document. That was in September 2019 already. I received document on the 20-01-2020 and I went to submit on the 24-01-2020, unfortunately I didn't have my late husband ID. I went back on the 31-01-2020, the consultant told me that he could not assist me because the case was closed in October 2019 because it was open for long and SARS did it's own assessment. Now I'm having a document that cost me R34 200.00 that is deemed to be useless and it did not serve it's purpose. My queries are: 1. Why did SARS required me to get a lawyer whilst they could do their own assessment? 2. Why SARS did not contact me to find out, what took so long for me to submit? 3. Why they didn't up date my late husband address and used the old addressed, if I didn't sell the house to some one I know I could not have receive that letter. 4. I want SARS to re-open my case so that I could submit the document because I don't want come backs in future. I still have an outstanding balance of R24 200.00. I want to pay for something that I will have good use of it.
Your assistance in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
L. Masango
