Absolute ineptitude
I was incorrectly assessed as owing SARS after being taxed for a non-taxable benefit. The misery is now never-ending in trying to sort out *their* error: Firstly, it is nearly impossible to reach them - if one eventually does reach the end of the hundreds-long phone queue and one reaches an agent, the line randomly cuts off a few sentences in with query unresolved and no call-back received (this has happened to me numerous times). Secondly, if one is lucky enough to reach an agent and not have the line cut off, it is like drawing blood from a stone - the agents know next to nothing about how the system works, and even less sbout how to resolve issues; no disrespect meant, but these agents clearly have received little to no training... on the phone with me today, the agent didn't even know what was on the dispute page she was supposed to lead me through, nor did she know basic salary terminology. It was a nightmare. Thirdly, the collections agents are incredibly rude. While the general call centre agents made an effort to be polite and helpful (even though we got nowhere in the 43 minutes I was on the phone today), the collections lady who called me earlier kept interrupting my queries and contradicting my story, stating that "it was her word against mine," despite me having an official SARS document supporting my story. Her attitude was incredibly rude and unprofessional, and not at all constructive at efforts for resolution.
Summary: ABSOLUTE ineptitude on all levels. I don't know how much more my patience can take.
