SAQA - Not So Proudly South African.

I submitted my request form to SAQA for evaluation of foreign qualifications of my Counselling Diploma on September 25th 2019 with all the relevant fees. My application was returned to me with the explanation that it was not successful! I phoned their office to inquire about my refund, I was told it will take 40 days!! I found this quite incredible! Why 40 days? However, today is the 13th of November. As I have not received any refund by SAQA so far, I decided to give them a call. The first person to answer seemed quite surprised that I still hadn't received my refund, he said he would go to their finance department to check with them and said he would call me back. He did not!! I then called again, this time a lady answered, She said the refund had been passed to their finance department, and as there are long ques, I would have to wait, how long I asked? she couldn't give me a definite answer, so, she also went to inquire at their finance department, keeping me on hold for a long time until I eventually got cut off! Basically,they could not tell me when I will be refunded. Ridiculous, but true. I am now, since I read all the other complaints from people in the same circumstances as I am, starting to believe that there is something really wrong with SAQA. Are they ******** people out of their money? it is very worrying coming from such a large institution with the so called purpose of generating a credible, and professional work force in a country where unemployment rules the day. I would like to not recommend SAQA to anyone who's trying to make a difference to their lives, and the lives of others. SAQA seems to be only interested in us paying fees, and keep our refund as long as possible to perhaps generate interests in their bank accounts!? As a South African, I am far from proud of such institutions, they do very little, or none at all to make a difference. they should seriously be investigated for their shady methods, this country has more than enough *******ion and ***** to go by, we certainly do not need more. Disgraceful SAQA.
