WROST insurance company EVER

On the 28th of Feb 2022 I was involved in an accident with a company vehicle that pulled out of a parking spot at a shopping center amounting to over a R100k in damages. He's insured by Santam and I only have 3rd party insurance. First it was an endless mission to get quotes as the vehicle is undriveable and Santam refused to send someone to come and view the vehicle. Eventually I managed to get a quote for repairs. I went through all the usual steps and submitted all the documents timeously. After a week, I decided to follow up and was told in no uncertain terms that they have 10 working days to get back to me, this after I battled to get how of the person handling my claim. After 10 days, I received a repose to my claim (again only after I phoned them). But wait, this isn't my vehicle's detail. Back on the phone. Now I told that my paperwork must have been filed under the wrong claim number. Later the Friday, my paperwork has been found and will be handled ASAP. 5DAYS (and numerous phone calls) later I receive Samtam's response that my claim has been denied. So I phone the agent and I get told that the reason for this is that the other driver now claims that he was stationary.

Now without getting into the evidence or any of that, never once was I contacted to validate my side of the story or to refute his blatant lie. Santam just blindly assumes that his version must be the truth. This without an assessor ever even seeing my vehicle. And to top it off the claim rejection letter essentially tells me that if I try to take any legal action they'd love nothing more than to make my life hell.

The absolute WROST insurance company I've ever had the misfortune to deal with.

So a week has past and no call or email from Santam. Guess I'm finding a lawyer.
