When it comes to claims - Santam refuse
We had an accident at home and our TV screen broke. Unfortunately its unrepairable. We phone Santam to claim and they told us that we don't have cover for that...OK for what are we covered then??? Now listen...I am not in the Short Term Insurance Industry. I don't understand all of that products unless they don't explain it to me, which in this case they did not explain it to me. According to me I have Household insurance and now when it gets to claim back SANTAM have issues. I will definitely go to the Ombudsman also with this. You trust Santam (they have been in this business for many years) to handle your stuff for you and this is what you get. This type of claims is standard with all the other Short Term Insurance Companies. I need legit answers...!!!
Santam your business is pathetic.

We are awaiting feedback from your broker as well as our Broker contact centre.
You first had a policy with Santam direct, which was a signature policy which did not provide accidental damage cover at all on the policy thus no conversation would have been had about that cover because it was not available -- we have listened to the recordings and there was no discussion about this cover.
The policy then moved over to a broker policy and standard cover, as the signature policy offering is only available to Santam Direct clients, but not broker clients.
The policy was thus taken over to the standard policy with the same cover you had on the signature policy with Santam Direct.
We have thus requested feedback whether your broker or our broker contact centre had offered or discussed this optional cover available under the standard policy.
Once we have received their feedback we will revert back to you.
Our apologies for the delayed response.
Thank you and kind regards
