When is a Theft not a Theft?

<p>When the goods are covered by SANTAM, of course. My late husband's Volvo XC90was left with a motor dealer (EDAN TRaders) pending a possible sale, where it could have been used as a trade in. There was no sale, but that was the last we saw of it. When my son went to pick it up he saw it at the dealership, when he returned it was gone. Give the dealership a break, there were riots, it could have been ******. I opened a case with the Police, and notified my Insurers. They used the Matrix tracker to find it.</p> <p>And it was ****** OK- the DEALER HAD REGISTERED IT IN THEIR OWN NAME, theft by ********** conversion. The dealer claimed that they had "bought " the car. Did Santam ask for proof of purchase, or proof of payment, or any of the documents that constitute a sale? No they did not. They rejected the claim. The dealer is smiling, the car is missing, and Santam can't be bothered. </p>
