Waiting 4 weeks for response on a claim

I report Santam about a claim 21 December 2015. They called me 22 December and registered a new claim and promise to speed up the process. I've send all the requirements and details again to them. It is now 4 weeks and I am still waiting for final decision? Why took it so long just to get a claim to be finalized?
