Useless Assessors ,
My claims took about than a month to process because the contracted assessor took his time. First it took 2 weeks for him to come to me, then it took him another two weeks two write his report. After his report he claim that there is not visible forced entry although there are full evidence. He also claim that the gates to the workshop is not on safety standards but its welded with expanded mesh and spikes on top and locked with chain and lock. My broker tries all she can do but the process is just useless. The assessor just do not answer emails. He claims he is too busy. When I phone him he tell me he will phone me back in the afternoon but that does not happen.

Best regards,
We have concluded our investigation in respect of this matter.
First of all the assessor was appointed the afternoon of 03/01 for the Monday 06/01 -- there were no other assessors available at the time to assist sooner as they were all inundated with claims due to the flooding in that areas -- the appointed assessor returned from leave on 06/01 and had already scheduled meetings for that week and arranged a meeting with you for Tuesday 14/01.
We do apologise for the assessor not returning your emails and calling back when promised. There is no excuse for that and claims management will attend to that internally.
One of the reasons for the delay in finalizing the claim sooner was that the assessor was in frequent discussion with the Santam claims management, your broker and yourself in respect of the protection in front of the opening to the garage space.
They found the garage had no standard garage door i.e. tip-up door, roll-up door manufactured of steel or timber,
The “garage door” is basically a farmgate with steel mech, the mech was opened by perpetrators with ease,
In light of the above they limited cover to “goods in the open”,
However, after the involvement of management, it was agreed to give you as insured the full benefit on the ****** goods, We only excluded vehicle parts ******, not classified as household contents,
We do apologise if you feel offended by certain statement made by the assessor. This had been escalated and claims management will be addressing this internally.
Payment will be processed upon receipt of the signed agreement of loss.
Thank you and kind regards
