Update of Policy taking far too long

Dear Santam, I regret having to resort to HelloPeter but I think you’ll agree that my recent negotiations with you have not been satisfactory and I really do hope that we can conclude this matter ASAP

2 Dec 2021: Spoke to Lyle in the morning and he agreed to send me a quote for a revised policy to include R50 000 insurance for solar panels. This normally happens quickly so sent a mail reminder that evening. 3 Dec 2021: Quote for revision received. 14 Dec 2021: My mail that morning had two requests: Firstly to increase the insured value of the solar panels to include installation. Received a call from Nombuntu (sp). I quickly realized that she had not read my short mail and asked her to do so. After a while she said that Santam does not cover installation! I said I couldn’t accept that and she said she would escalate. No point in attending to my second request. 16 Dec 2021: Mailed Santam a reminder that I was waiting for a response. 17 Dec 2021: All 12 solar panels now installed! 20 Dec 2021: Had a call from Mida who started talking about an earlier unrelated request I’d had about web access which had been quickly resolved. She then found my mail of 16 Dec and was clearly unfami**** with the contents and agreed to peruse and call me back. 21 Dec Mida called and we agreed to increasing the insured value of the solar panels to R55 000. This amount is under Buildings > Fixed machinery but she was not sure whether it would also, for example, cover the replacement of a garage door spring but would find out. She would also find out whether the new item, Conditions and Exclusions (R25 000) under Residential Structures (Private) in the quote would appear in the policy.
