Unwanted spam weather notification sms messages

once again I am receiving unwanted weather spam sms notifications from Santam. I complained about this on the 30th of October 2023 and again on the 14th of November 2023. Reference number attached. This is unacceptable and must stop immediately. So far this week I have received two of the spam sms messages to which I have had to send STOP at MY EXPENSE which is also unacceptable. If Santam is unable to permanently stop these unwanted spam sms messages being sent to my cell phone I will lodge a complaint with the Insurance Ombudsman for resolution.

I have just received another unwanted spam sms message from the same number that sent me the earlier one today to which I had sent STOP. STOP did not stop your unwanted junk sms messages from being sent to my cell phone.be

To date the only response I have received from Santam is this Ssms message sent from ***.

Santam has partnered with Africa Weather to send you precautionary weather alerts for hail. Reply "Santam STOP to opt-out. Standard SMS rates apply. FSP3416"
End quote.

I have issues with this:
1) I never consented or agreed to receive these spam and junk sms messages.
2) I never gave Santam permission to give my private cell number to Africa Weather. In my view this is a violation pf the POPI act.
3) It is unacceptable that the recipient of unwanted spam and junk messages has to bear the cost to stop them. Santam must bear this cost.

To date no-one from Santam has contacted me as was promised by Santam's Client care on the 6th of January 2025. Today I received another one of Santam's unwanted weather Spam sms messages. on the 18th of December Santam Client Care advised that they had requested their Digital Support Hub to remove my cell number from their database. This clearly has not been done. This is unacceptable.
