************ practices by SANTAM

41 Stanley Avenue, Auckland Park , Johannesburg 2000 | www.santam.co.za On 19 October 2019 I was involved in a accident with a Takeat delivery driver. He drove into my front wheel causing damage to the mag of the wheel. The driver did not stop at the accident scene, but I managed to take down his licence plate number. After numerous phone calls to Takealot I finally managed to track the driver down. Takealot held an internal investigation and determined that their driver was at fault. Mr Mark Muso, a National Director at Takealot, contacted me and informed me that they got the driver and determined that he was at fault and that I could proceed to put in a claim with their insurance. This is where my second hell started. Santam and their brokers were from the very beginning extremely tardy to respond to me and kept sending me from pillar to post. I had to submitted numerous documents, photos, accident reports, etc.

Eventually In March 2020 the matter is handed over to Santam Legal to deal with my claim. Enter Ms Puleng Mosime - first she tells me that her client (The Takealot driver informed them that he was never involved in an accident on that day, and tells me that I must provide her with the SAPS accident report, which I then proceed to do at my own cost.

So this is the email of Ms Mosime from Santam saying her client DENIES being involved in an accident with me or anyone else on that day:

"From: Puleng Mosime (Santam) [mailto:***] Sent: Monday, 16 March 2020 12:06 PM To: Michael Prince Cc: DPC Legal <***>; Ashia Ariefdien <***> Subject: RE: *** Good day, Thank you for your email. Please note that we contacted our driver and according to him, he is not aware of an accident that occurred on the 19/10/2019 neither was he involved in an accident for that date. With the absents of the accident report, we will have to proceed in rejecting your claim as there is no evidence to prove this particular matter. Regards, Puleng Mosime Legal Officer: Uninsured Liability Specialist Claims Services: Outsourced Business Legal"

Then I sent her the SAPS accident report and a couple of days after that her client all of a sudden remembers the accident. Her client was lying from the start. Ms Mosime now obtains the accident report from me and NOW her client all of a sudden has a counter; this after a week or so ago he DENIED he was ever involved in an accident.

So now Santam send me a rejection letter claiming they believe their client's view, which a week ago denied he was ever involved in a accident:

"According to the information on file;you/your driver wanted to overtake our insured’s bike. Your vehicle was not able to dos o successfully,as there were vehicles infront causing congestion. Your vehicle touched our bike’s box, swerved in the process and collided with pavement causing damages to your mag"

Shame on you Santam and in particular Puleng Mosime, for allowing the state of completely lawlessness in this country to continue unabated, all because you don't want to pay out a legitimate claim!!!

So basically you've just given me the run around for two weeks. So the fact that at best your iinsured or at worst your legal team **** is not something that your department can intervene in? Your legal team informed me that your insured DENIED ever being involved in an accident. She then requests that I provide her with an accident report, which I then obtain at for financial cost to me. She presents my version to your insured and the next thing we know your insured SUDDENLY has a version to contradict mine. SOMEONE ****!

I hear your obfuscation loud and clear, but the one thing that you cannot explain away and as officers of the court your legal team should know this, is that you cannot manufacture a version for your client. By your legal team's own admission your client did not have a version, and by your client's own admission he fled the scene of an accident because he initally claimed that he was never there. I am the only one who ever had a version of the accident. Handing my version to your client and then rejecting my claim after your client miraculously recalls a conflicting version is perhaps strategic for your company, but is still highly *********! I hear you SANLAM and I will be sure to inform colleagues and friends about you. thanks for nothing!
