Uninsured because of Santam's systems

We moved our car insurance to Santam over a month ago. We received numerous emails to say that if we do not take video evidence of the cars via a link, we will not be insured. Despite numerous follow-ups, we have received no such email. Since the new policy is now "active", we effectively have no insurance. We are paying for a policy that does not cover us because Santam have failed to send us this link. Not a great start. We are effectively paying for insurance, while being uninsured, all because of this "link" that never seems to come. We have sent numerous emails in this regards and have just been ignored. Disappointing.

As an update, we received an email to say that we needed to submit pictures of our cars manually, as the link sent by Santam was faulty. We submitted these pictures 7 days ago and have not received any form of confirmation or response from anyone, despite replying to the complaints email address and asking them to confirm that the pictures were received. As a reminder, we gave notice to stop our previous policy about 6 weeks ago (the same time we started the process of moving our policy to Santam). To think that during these 6 weeks, nobody has followed up with us and we have had to submit multiple complaints to get any form of response from Santam. We were told in a previous email that we are still uninsured, due to errors with Santam’s verification system. It is now day 14 of paying full premium for a policy that does not cover us, due to errors on Santam’s part (and week 6 since we started this process). If we had not micro-managed this entire process, who knows how long it would have been before anyone picked up that we were not covered by the insurance policy we are paying in full for. Very disappointing start to our Santam relationship.

An update from Santam: we have received confirmation that the policy is now active. After a lot of following up and back and forth, the policy we initiated 6 weeks ago is finally active, which is a relief.
