Unfair rejection of claim
Good day Kurt and Team,
Thank you for your feedback.
I’m not well but thanks for asking.
I’ve realised that you’re trying to find ways to not pay-out my claim as opposed to the promise that you make to your client “We look for reasons to pay your claim” and I'm disputing it and request that you cooperate.
Based on your new alibis to reject my claim:
I took all reasonable precautions and all reasonable care to prevent or minimise loss, damage, death, injury or liability.
• I’m the one who took the helper mainly because she has worked for someone that I know very well and she operated from a reputable shopping centre (she has no office, which is the case for most domestic worker in South Africa), though I left her at the apartment for few hours, the keys of the apartment and the remote were in my possession, I stay in a 24hr secured complex where entry and exit is monitored, she did not have the liberty to exit the apartment or the complex.
• The helper is not unknown because my friend has used her and I’ve her contact number as mentioned in my previous email – ********** (Cellphone numbers are RICAed with ID number and residential addresses)
• The helper does not have an office hence she operates from the shopping mall, callout and referrals, what evidence do you need regarding the service that the helper has offered my friend?
This is opposite your initial “alibi” to reject my claim, because you stated early this week that :
The loss occurred when an unknown domestic worker was left unsupervised at the insured premises with the house keys. The domestic then stole the insured personal belonging.
• The lady has worked for my friend, I know her name and cellphone number (cellphone numbers are RICAed in this country), the apartment keys were in my possession and I stay in a secured complex, where entry and exit is controlled.
You must tell us as soon as possible of any event that may result in a claim and advise us of any other policy which may cover the same event.
• You were informed as soon as possible, despite that shock that I had
You must give us full details of the event within 30 days after it has occurred, as well as all documents which we may reasonably require.
• This was done within 48 hours
You must immediately inform us in writing if you become aware of any possible prosecution, legal proceedings or claim against you following an event.
• Not applicable to my claim
You must immediately report to the police any event where theft or any other ******** act is involved.
• The matter was reported to the policy and I provided you the case number
You may not without our written consent admit liability, offer, promise or pay in respect of any event that may result in a claim.
• Not applicable to my claim
Best Regards
