Understanding situations assistance

Good day, I work at a brokerage and have to deal with claims on a daily basis. With this specific claim, my client had damages to his vehicle caused by a third party. Normally third party settlements can take very long, but with this claim, my client received his excess (which he did not have the funds for) back before he even collected his vehicle back from the panel beaters, this means he will not have to carry the expenses for something he did not cause.
