Tripple blow for elderly couple
My dad is a 68 year old pensioner living in Klerksdorp. In January 2015 their house was broken into and they were ******. Luckily nobody was at home at the time it happened. They have been with SANTAM for many years. They claimed for the very first time for the house content that were ******. The assessor then came out to investigate the claim and said that my parents were over insured by R150k. The claim was paid out with no problems. Two months later, March 2015, their worst nightmare came true. Seven armed men broke into the house while they were sleeping. They demanded the key for the save. My parents were badly beaten that day. My dad's medical costs are standing close to R100k already. The trauma is even worse. Needless to say, another claim to SANTAM. SANTAM then send my dad a SMS saying that their policy has been cancelled due to claim history, no detailed reason given. Today my parents are sitting without any insurance. How bad is this!? They did not asked to be ******, nor did they asked to be armed ****** and badly injured. Why is SANTAM doing this? This is not fair. 'At SANTAM, we believe in the simple principle that insurance should add value, not questions' Proof it..
