Totally disgusted by treatment
I had a claim 2 weeks ago and Sheryl Ngxangane is the claims consultant on my claim and promised me that the claim would be sorted out last week Wednesday and she would sent me regular updates. A week after the claim I call her and ask so update on the claim and she wasn't available. Wednesday still no feedback and by Friday the complaints department phone me back to tell me that they will update my policy as the sales guy never offered me the product and the mistake was on Santams side. So eventually when everything was sorted out now I tried to phone the guy who initially helped me since Sheryl disappeared and now all of a sudden Sheryl is available. Promising me again that my claim will be finalized today. So after i sent her a mail on progress. She advise me that she will sent another assessor out to attend. So I will wait for another few days. I speak to her manager and I know I have a right to request another assessor and then she tells me she is not gonna give me another assessor even though I am not happy with Sheryl treating me like a stupid. Sheryls + her manager doesnt have peoples s****s at all. Sharief the guy that helped me so far has been a pleasure to deal with. I wouldn't hire Sheryl in my company for free as she will be the cause of losing clients. Going for 3 weeks without my devices and still delay. I am super ****ed and will take this up to higher management and the nice thing I work for the Media. Good luck Santam with the bad publicity you going to get.
My claim number is ********** 68

Good day sir,
Thank you for your post. Unfortunately appointing another assessor would not change the process and we still require to inspect the damaged items claimed for to establish the cause and extent of the damaged items and if they are repairable or not.
Unfortunately the report submitted was not clear in that regard therefore the reason why we have requested a second opinion on the damaged items. This all forms part of the validation of the claim and do we need all information required to validate the claim before we can enter into any settlement agreement.
We thus await the report from the appointed service provider, after they have collected the damaged items from you, upon receipt we will then be in a position to finalise the claim.
We understand there had been a delay on this claim due to the accidental damage cover not being active at the time of the claim -- unfortunately we had to request the voice recording sto ascertain what was discussed at inception and therefore established you were not provided with that option. This our underwriters have corrected an added the cover onto your policy. This took a few days to finalise and we do apologise for that.
To conclude then, upon receipt of service provider's report we will be in a position to finalise the claim with you.
Thank you kindly.
