SANTAM WORST INSURER - MISLEADING CLIENTS AND COMPROMISING COVERS!
I signed up with Santam about a month ago, I am VERY VERY UNHAPPY and I think your service is nonexistent and absolutely terrible.
I called to sign up over a weekend and the advisor took my banking details and “activated” the cover. He told me that he will give me a call back that following day as the policy has been referred to actuaries so they can check if there are any further claims reflecting on my name. The advisor never called be back. I had to follow up the following week ad spoke to another advisor, I asked this advisor if this is now a policy because the initial advisor never called me back and I did not know if I should cancel my current policy at that time as I did not want to be double debited. Once again this advisor could not give me a straights answer to tell me if it is indeed a policy or not, he told me that I should wait for the initial advisor that did the quote to get back from training.
No follow ups have been made from Santam side after his call ONCE AGAIN. The initial advisor never disclosed that the vehicle would only be covered for “market value” instead of “retail value” which is in fact seen as non-disclosure and therefore there were no consensus as the advisor mislead me into think that I have full cover on the vehicle, and we know that market value covers you for less on the car. If I knew that I would not be covered appropriately or that Santam is compromising my cover for a lower premium I would have never moved my insurance.
I phoned last week and spoke to another advisor by the name of Sanele Magwaca once again to complain about the market value whereby the advisor just kept saying that the retail value means that you will basically enrich me and that is why Santam is covering me for Market value, this is absolute nonsense. The retail value is what any insurance company covers unless noted otherwise. The advisor advised that should ANYTHING happen to either of my vehicles that they would settle the back so I would owe ZERO, but what if I write the Merc off? Not owing the bank Santam will still pay me OUT the market which is less than should be due to me?? I would like for you to listen to this call that took place on 30/09/2019 at around 13h45.
Now this morning I have received a call from tracker and Santam stating I have to install a tracker in my Merc 2007 model??????? There was NEVER any mention of this either?! The advisor told me this morning that I will not have any theft cover should the tracker not be installed? How can you after giving me my premiums and taking my premium come with new stories?
I just called now again and spoke to Nobuhle Sigiubu and she promised that a manager would call me and to NO SURPRISE I AM STILL waiting for a manager to phone me!!
I AM SO UPSET AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH HORRIBLE SERVICE FROM A COMPANY. SANTAM CLAIMS TO BE SUCH A GOOD INSURER BUT YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO SERVICE YOUR CLIENT AT ALL – I HAVE BEEN DECEIVED INTO THINKING THAT I AM COVERED CORRECTLY AND THAT I MADE THE RIGH DECISION, IF SANTAM SELLS ON PREMIUM ONLY I WOULD TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
IF THIS IS NOT SORET I WILL BE APPROACHING THE OMBUD AND SOCIAL MEDIA.
