Santam up to their usual tricks.
So here I am back to square one with Santam. I am busy prosessing a claim with them and they have send me on a wild goose chase since day one. After initially supplying them with the nessasary documents they requested I supply the RC1. I however lost the original and supp**** alternative documents. I was contacted by them(after sending a complaints email) and told that after rewieving the submitted documents it was found to be in order. About a month went by with no further communication. I tried sending emails and calling to no avail. Only after publishing a rewiev I received feedback. I was then told that the document were not sufficient and that they still require the RC1 even though I was told a month earlier that it was. I was further told that when you are claiming from Santam they do not provide you with any updates and that it is your responsibility to check in at least every 10 days, which, although redicolous and poor customer service, would still be ok if you could get hold of them through any means save posting public reviews. Fast forward and I have since submitted the RC1 and all of a sudden I am told by the devition handeling my formar complaint that they cannot get involved. When mailing the claims handler I receive eigher an out of office message or an address not found message. My calls are also not being awnsered. Seems like when they had leverage with the RC1 they responded knowing it would result in a delay to settle the claim. Now that all required documents are submitted they revert to their original tactics to try and avoid settling my claim. This is what you get after 10+ years of being a loyal customer. When I listen to their adds on the radio I start laughing as this is far from piece of mind. Perhaps the people making sure they debit your premiums every month should be moved to the customer care and claims handeling devition as they never fail to deliver. I would strongly advise anybody who is considering doing business with them to think again.
