Santam Towing only pays for 10km
On 30 June 2022 my mom's car broke down on the highway. We contacted Santam for help and they advised they will only pay for 10km tow to the nearest dealer instead of 39km to home. This is something which I never heard of from an insurer, basically they only pay R130 and we have to pay R580 to tow the car home even though the policy documents state vehicle can be towed to place of safekeeping.
We had to cancel the policy as clearly we did not have insurance coverage/ peace of mind as promised. If Santam is dishonest with towing then one can only imagine what will happen with a claim.
Santam, give my mom her R580 back or we will take this matter further with OSTI.
