No so Caring: Santam travel insurance fail Pensioner A retired teacher bought travel insurance through TIC underwritten by Santam in February 2020 not expecting COVID-19 to foil their dream holiday. R4,315,00 paid to TIC for insurance and not a cent paid out when travel was banned during SA's shutdown and they could not go on their trip. CEO Lizé Lambrechts described Santam as “a caring South African corporate”, which is working alongside Government and other stakeholders to help alleviate the suffering of fellow South Africans and to minimise the financial impact of this crisis.
