Santam the worst insurer in South Africa

<p>Reading the reviews that people have written on Santam, I am glad to know that I am not the only one who is appalled at the service that Santam gives to its clients. The purpose of paying for such service is that you have some satisfaction that Santam will be there when you need them BUT Santam has a legal department that scrutinizes every minute details of one's policy to find a tiny loophole not to pay out on claims. However, they do have monies to outlay to have several assesors come through.</p> <p>In my opinion, I think this whole short term insurance thing is just syphoning billions of rands out of the hardworking consumer and into the pockets of the shareholders...By the way Sanlam is the holding company of Santam. </p> <p>I recommend anyone against taking out insurance with Santam. Look at other alternatives and how often you claim and the amount...rather look at the banks with whom you have your bond since they will most likely protect their assets. </p> <p>People pay tens of thousands of rands over a period of time for short term insurance without claims or even minor ones, but lose all those premiums when it really counts.</p> <p>#Santam must fall</p>
