Santam - Terrible insurance
Claim Number ********** 99 Santam, honestly the most disappointing insurance company I have yet come across.
Long story short, I have been in the unfortunate position where I had someone drive into my vehicle whilst my vehicle was stationary. The person responsible for the accident is strangely enough someone related to my fathers soon to be wife. The other party (person responsible) in this accident even had me record them admitting responsibility, also even called family related to me and admitted their guilt and still sent me whatsapp messages admitting in being responsible for the accident.
Wanting to submit a 3rd party claim via the person reponsible for the accident they shared with me their insurers name as well as the contact details for person handling their claim in order for me to get a claim number. After many emails I eventually got a claim number.
With this claim number I completed my 3rd party claim which is the usual: - Terms and conditions - 3 quoted from panel beaters - sketch of incident - police report number - photos of car
etc.
After submitting all the documentation I was informed that the assessor will be doing a digital assessment that will take ±10 working days.
It has been almost 2 months since submitting all documentation and yet when I call the legal department all they tell me is that they waiting on assessors feedback and when asked if I can get the contact details of anyone who can assist the assessor or the portfolio, I get told I must just wait.
I have even submitted evidence to Santam and yet they still cant give me an answer.
After informing many of my colleagues whom are with santam, about this predicament, they say they are honestly surprised to hear this about santam.
Its honestly a nightmare trying to get answers from santam and I strongly advise people to take additional legal action against santam policy holders if ever placed in a similar predicament as myself.
