Dear Andre,

We thank you for your post. Please take note that the policy was cancelled with effective date 15/08/2016, however, you had claims in September, October and November.

Santam had to deduct the premiums for months of September (at the end of August) and October (at the end of September) for you to have cover to have these claims registered and investigated.

We can therefore not refund any premium to you as requested, if we do then those claims would not be entertained and you would not have cover.

Thank you and kind regards.

Dear Client Care,

Thank you for your response.

This is Mr De Vries. Not Mr Heunis.

If a Policy is cancelled effective 15 Aug, then I do not see how any monthly premiums can be deducted.

You are mentioning three more claims. We know only of two claims. One of which was submitted before 15 Aug. There was therefore 1 claim submitted after 15 Aug. Simply because we were not aware that the policy was cancelled on 15 Aug. But if the claims made will still be settled then that is fine with us. Then settle the claim?

We were told three weeks ago that our Policy was cancelled on 15 Aug. So either the claims submitted after this date needs to be settled, or the premiums need to be paid back.

Taking primiums after a policy was cancelled is however against the law.

Therefore either settle the claims that was made after the cancellation date or pay back the premiums. Either one will be totally fine with us.

We will however not let you ***** from us.

Regards,

Justin De Vries

And as always Santam has nothing to say, because they know that they are in the wrong...
