Santam slo service. No feedback.
On the 8’th of November our garage door broke due to the heavy rains. I phone Santam. I was told by the operator that I can use my own supplier or they can appoint one after an assessment was made. I suggested that they get quotes from Santams supplier and I will get quotes from reputable local suppliers. Then we can compare quotes and decide what would be the best way forward for me. I have had three third parties look at the problem including the assessor that was originally appointed by Santam who assessed the claim on the 8’th of November 2022. The assessors conclusion was basically the same as the other two parties. I proceeded to get quotes on the report of the assessor. I promptly received email verification that the claim was registered. I received a claim number and a service consultant Sipho Sitole. I send an email to Sipho as a reminder to first send me their suppliers quotes before I decide what the best course forward would be. From here on I received no further feedback.
From the 12’th of November I have been trying to contact Santam but apparently up and till today they are overwhelmed with phone calls and cannot take my calls. The website is no help at all. I don’t see why this is taking as long as it has. It is that time of the year and my family is left in a venerable state without a properly functioning garage door. Surprisingly now I have received an SMS stating that another assessor has been appointed. Later on I received a phone call and a lady informed me that they can only send an assessor on Wednesday.
The whole process have started over? At who’s cost? How many assessors do I need to take days off for? How long do I still have to wait for this? When will you be able to take my phone call and just let me know what the hell is going on? Not even ABSA took this long!
I told the assessor that there was already an assessor here and that I’m waiting for the quotes. When you feel you have the time just let me know what is going on please.
P.S. I still have not received any quotes from your suppliers.
