Santam service only for their own gain ??
Santam claim no. ********** 4*004*001 - my Toyota d/c 4x4 was *******ey used by Park & Smile - (Durban airport parking valet service ) , to ferry staff from Tongaat to the airport , and the vehicle hit a lamp post and rolled on to its side - 24 September 10:25. Vehicle was booked with this company for SAFE keeping whilst I flew to Cape Town , returned Monday 01 October 2018 , 20:00 . PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Santam was informed through our broker - I requested my vehicle to be taken to an approved Santam panel beater , was done Friday 28 September 2018 - panel beater Tongaat Auto Industries ( TAI ) , for security purposes over that weekend. I visited the company Tuesday 02 October 2018 , Santan assessor had not seen my vehicle. Vehicle quote was received from TAI 09-09-2018 , assessor submitted and approved quote received 10-10-2018, with 19,95 % reduced total price , through the use of non genuine Toyota spares - my vehicle has a Toyota SA extended warranty . I refused to accept non genuine parts , as this vehicle has never been in a accident before , and then my extended warranty is void. The TDI quote was 36% of the vehicles insured value. Assessor now declares the vehicle as a right off due to the cost of genuine parts use - I have pictures of the rolled vehicle ( submitted to our broker ), and the assessor states my claim of the vehicle being rolled is un-true. At 62 years old , the first time I have claimed for accident damage - EVER , and I was not even driving the vehicle . Now treated like and absolute non entity , assessors company states I cannot talk to the assessor - they only deal with the insurance company . Thank you Santam , wonderful support and service given - am self employed and this is my work vehicle - over 4 weeks later with my own vehicle still not repaired - not even started. Peter Burton
