Santam refuses to replace my damaged car key

I was on my way to work yesterday morning when I tried to start my car when the key broke in the ignition.

I needed it to be replaced and I know I have cover in my policy for car keys. I contacted Santam and logged a claim.

I followed up this morning as no one got back to me and said I must contact the broker and the person to speak with is Koketso Rapoo.

I contacted Koketso and he said he will get back to me. Just a few minutes ago he contacted me that they are not going to settle my claim as damaged keys are not covered.

If that's the case, I will go to the ombudsman to get my claim sorted out. And if I don't get any joy, I'm cancelling my contract with Santam, and it will be time for damage control.

Santam is *****ing my money every month for the past 5 years. If I rather put that amount away in a savings account, I would have more than enough money to replace the key and change.

I will go out my way then to tell everybody not to insure with Santam. I had previous problems with claims and now it has gone far enough.

Enough is enough Santam!

Pay up!
