I am insured with Santam, yes, they charge more on their premiums, I chose this option as I don't ever want hassles with a claim, and isn't this what they are known for?
I've been with them for the last 4 or 5 years, I think, never claimed, never skipped a payment, no late payments, nothing.
Now I am claiming for damage because of an accident/possible accident. So they are willing to settle the claim for 2 new rims and 2 new tyres, and the claim is for 4 new rims and 2 new tyres, because the mags that are currently fitted and damaged, have been discontinued. The damage and discontinuation of my current mags are confirmed by Hi-Q.
So not considering the fact that my actions caused minimal damage, as opposed to them that would've had to write-off and settle the whole car had I not taken the course of action which I did. Santam expects you to drive around with two different types of wheels when they settle your claim.
Absolutely rediculous.
