Santam insurance not wanting to tow a customer of 8 years with an active and valid policy

Good day

I have car insurance with Santam and have had the policy since December 2018 and pay my premiums every month without fail. I am currently stuck on the side of the road in Boksburg because my clutch died while I was driving and now gears do not work and I cannot drive my car. I called the Santam call centre requesting road assistance and I was told that they can tow my car to the nearest service provider or the nearest place of safety. They told me that because the nearest VW is in a 20km radius they can tow the car there without any payment from my side. My request to them was to tow the car to my nearest place of safety being my house because I do not have money to pay a service provider at the moment it is the 10th of the month and I funds are low. They told me my house is 50km away and I will have to pay their service provider R1000 the 30km difference from the nearest VW in the area. This is unfair because they know my address and towing my car to my home should be the first option instead of them forcing me to take the car to a service provider that is over 30km from my house. I am now stuck on the side of the road with no assistance from Santam because I do not have R1000 to pay their tow truck to tow my car home and I do not have money to pay the nearest service provider from the place of the breakdown. I am also required to get myself home once they tow the car to the service provider. My complaint is that Santam is willing to tow the car to my house (50km) away and cover the cost if there was no VW service centre 20kms away from the place of breakdown but I cannot take the car to the service centre because I do not have the money to pay them . I am now stuck on the side of the road with no help from my insurer of 8 years because I cannot pay R1000 they are forcing me to pay because they do not want to tow my car home. Santam will be liable for anything that happens to me while sitting on the side of the road.
