Santam insurance has become a joke.
I have been with Santam since 2017 and I have never been dissatisfied with their service until now.
I had a minor accident in July. I logged a claim for myself and another for the third party. The day I collected my car from Brian auto repairs the windscreen was not replaced because the assessor, Kaygee Paku, did not authorise that. I called Mr. Paku for the first time on 21 August and he apologised, declared it "an oversight" and promised to send "the glass people" to me to sort it out. Needless to say, two months later, I'm still driving around with a damaged windscreen. During our countless correspondence, he told me that I was not his on only client. With that said, I assume I am Santam's least important client.
As if that is not enough, I have been harassed by the third party who claims that "Santam is giving him the run around" and wants money from me. I tried to contact Seipati Mashaba, whom he said was handling his claim. It's been about two weeks since I've been trying to contact Seipati. Every time I do, someone takes my details with the promise to ask her to call me back because she's either out or on another phone call.
I thought the whole point of having insurance was for peace of mind but I have never felt more helpless and stressed.
