Santam insurance
Since i have moved my short term and house owners insurance to Santam, I have a nightmare with ever single claim. An example was my that my roof was leaking and there excuse was that i have not done maintenance. I should have checked the nails in the roof. Once our home was strike by ligtning and the bore hole was to be replaced. It took nearly 3 months for santam to finalise the claim and to repay me back after numerous follow ups and so can I continue

29 Jul 2019, 15:55Hallo Stephen, i have registered a claim for my script multi vokoal sunglasses and apparently this should have been specified as well. why do i have an all risks to the amount of R 10k. Both me and my son are wearing specticals and if i have to specify everything then why do i need to have insurance. Santam is prepared to pay R2000 and if this is the case then i don't even will tske this as i will not be able to replace them. i dont have my policy no, but you should trace from this claim -The following claim has been registered claim no ***2*009*009 . Yasmin Gafoor is your claims consultant and can be contacted on ***

30 Jul 2019, 07:23Good morning,
Thank you for your response above. The sunglasses and prescription specticals will be covered under normal All risk but will be limited to R2000 per item or a percentage of total all risk cover -- so if the sunglasses or specticals is worth more than R2000 it will be better to have it specified for the replacement value then you will have peace of mind that you will be covered correctly should something happen in future. Do you perhaps have a broker on your policy or are you directly insured with Santam?
Unfortunately Hellopeter didn't display the claim number nor contact number you refer to above.
I will email you shortly requesting that information again.
