SANTAM – ***********

I had my vehicle taken during an armed ******* on 9th July 2019. Had vehicle hire on my policy, firstly delivery of the rental vehicle was delayed as the companies Santam uses didn’t have any vehicles available. Then I had to phone all the time for feedback, the claims department (Azeala Simmons & Thabang) tells me to call the vehicle recovery company, then to call the assessors, its always I as the client have to chase after Santam and their appointed service providers. They write lies on their system that they had tried to contact me which they never did as when asked for proof they cant supply. My phone was also ****** but I gave them to alternate numbers which they never called. Common sense is that if you don’t get a hold of a client then you send an email not send emails and wait for a week and then phone. Vehicle hire couldn’t be extended as they say its not a delay on their side so I asked from proof to say that it was a delay on mine which they cant supply. Also the excess is R 4000 for ******* or hijacking but now they are charging me the basic excess of R 6000 as they are stating that its no more a ******* as the vehicle was found. What a load of bulls**t. They make every excuse not to sort out a claim, when they state that they are “good and proper insurance”. They are a bunch of *********** excuse makers. Always trying to put the blame on the client when we are forced to deal with their appointed service providers. When queried as to why I have to use their service providers they just say its on your policy read it. When asked for a letter stating that Santam is forcing me to use their service providers they cant give a letter as they say its stated on the policy. Even the so called manager Marileese lies that she spoke to me advising that vehicle hire cant be extended, when I never spoke to her. All ***** working at Santam. Don’t ever make a mistake and take out a policy with Santam you will regret it.
