Santam has a lot of problems. I do not recommend it as an Insurance.

I chose Santam I thought that this was the best insurance in South Africa and from “best insurance” In South Africa I chose the highest and best plan - The Premium Insurance Plan. I am an excellent driver with an huge experience on the road. Why I chose insurance is because they are many unprofessional and unexperienced drivers in South Africa.

I had an experience with Santam for many years. What I can say from my experience is that Santam is far from being the best insurance in South Africa.

Problems: Number 1) Santam constantly changed and raised the price for Premium Insurance from being R1 200 to R1 600. They made it significantly higher without any accidents from my side.

Number 2) I found out that Santam put excess on my Insurance of R5 500 which I told them not to put in the beginning when they asked me about it. I did Not want excess. If I chose the Premium insurance then of course I do not need it.

Number 3) When an accident happened and a shuttle driver bumped my car, I registered a claim at Santam on the 2nd of August. Today is the 16th of August. During this time Santam the consultants were pushing my claim onto other consultants and it was a huge mess. Nobody wanted to solve my problem. Remember, I am a client with the highest possible Premium Insurance.

Number 4) I called Santam many times a day for 14 days straight to ask them to resolve my problem with the claim and secondly with my excess.

Number 5) Buntu Gontsana was the consultant who was appointed our claim. When I spoke to him on the phone he was extremely rude, aggressive, raised his voice and could not speak English properly. His English was not fluent and he spoke with mistakes. Everything is on recording, the calls are recorded.

My problem is still not fixed. I do not recommend Santam Insurance to anyone.
