Santam - claiming equals no service

I registered a claim in June 2015 and had to constantly follow up myself. Why is there a documents email address when no one checks the email? Eventually claim sorted in October after having to be made felt like a ********. Then a consultant informed me that I had to use funds loaded onto Santam card within 48 hours - Does Santam not train their employees?
Had to register another claim in October for cellphone ****** - sent email including info like IMEI, ITC and SAPS case number and was informed that I had to call to register claim - like seriously? Also, why do I need to provide an invoice when I registered cell phone on the policy and provided all details required?
Am seriously going to change insurance. Will not recommend Santam to anyone.

Hello Leggzz,

Thank you for your posting and sharing your experience with us.

We understand that you are unhappy and disappointed in the service you have experienced.

Kindly be advised that the funds normally takes 48 hours to be avialable on the claims card and that he card is valid for 5 years -- you can therefore use this card until all the funds are depleted and it functions as a debit card whereby you can purchase anything from any shop with a Visa point of sale system. Our sincere apologies for the delay in finalising this claim.

With regard to the second claim, unfortunately there are only two means of registering a claim with Santam, either via our website at www.santam.co.za of by telephone, ***. In the event of a claim it is required that you need to provide us with proof of ownership as this forms part of the verification process.

We note the new claim is not registered as of yet and friendly request you contact us to have this done.

We will enquire from the claims department on the existinh claim if funds are available yet.

Kind regards.
