Santam-bad service and assist on my vehicle

I had a accident, about a month ago, the insurance came back and told me they will write off my car. Now they want me to pay back a large amount of money. I did not ask them to write off my car and how can I pay such large amount of money if I won't have my car in my possession. Why not assist in repairing my car rather, then I'll pay. But paying for something I won't get back is not the way to treat clients.
