Quick to Deduct, Slow to Refund I cancelled my Santam policy on 25 May 2026 and was informed that the debit order had already been processed, but that I would receive a refund. When I followed up on 1 June 2026, I was advised that the refund could take between 7 and 21 working days. My concern is that while it was easy for Santam to debit my account, I am expected to wait up to 21 working days to receive my own money back, with no definite refund date provided. I believe Santam should review its refund process. I have dealt with another insurer that expedited a refund within 3 working days after I provided a bank statement confirming an incorrect deduction. In today’s economy, customers should not have to wait this long for funds that rightfully belong to them. I hope Santam will improve its refund turnaround times and communication with customers.
