POOR/NO SERVICE SANTAM.

On the Easter weekend of 2024 I was taking my ill wife and her nurse for a scenic drive. Driving uphill from Hout Bay towards Constantia Neck the traffic was quite heavy so we were driving slowly. A Toyota Landcruiser driven by its owner Dr Johan Botha was coming downhill towards us, lost its L rear wheel which hit my Mercedes head on doing R45,000 damage. Dr Botha asked me to deal with his insurance SANTAM for the claim. After a years frustrating emails going back and forth SANTAM said they were not liable for the claim and refused to settle!! I had to pay for the repair myself. Taking legal action would be more expensive than the claim was worth. To add insult to injury Mirriam Matladi of SANTAM sent me a claim form pre-populated with someone else's details. I eventually spoke to this person about her claim and like me she eventually gave up and had paid for the claim herself. Don't trust SANTAM... they do everything in their power not to admit liability or settle the claim!
