Poor Service from Santam Insurance - No accountability

Re Ceiling claim number: ***

I originally logged a claim with Santam for my garage ceiling that collapsed. Your contractors came to do the work on 22.01. On the morning of 23.01, I discovered that my gate motor was tripping the lights. I then called Santam SOS to have them come and check my gate motor out. Contractors were assigned and advised the cable by the gate motor shorted (without stripping the cables to thoroughly check) and that the power supply was gone and that I needed to replace it. I told them not to go ahead as I wanted my electrician to look into this.

My electrician came out and thoroughly inspected and traced the cable from the gate motor back into the roof and noticed that your ceiling guys nailed a ***** right through the cable which caused the short and messed up my gate motor.

This has been a major inconvenience to me and has brought unnecessary costs into my world. Attached you will find my electrician’s quote and fault report, along with pictures of the your ceiling guys nailing a ***** through the gate motor cable.

After many phones calls and emails, the original contractor came out and fixed the cable. However the damage to my gate motor was already done (power supply and battery).

Between the gate motor contractor and the ceiling contractor, along with Santam... No one is taking ownership and I remain without a fixed gate motor.

Poor poor service. I've escalated multiple times and I am the one that has to continue chasing and following up to get this matter resolved.

Please can someone at Santam step up, take ownership and put me back into the position before your contractors came to my premises.
