Poor service
Worst company to take out insurance,we've been paying more than our fare share to this insurance and the one time we claim we have to pay that ridiculous excess fee and since it was a 3rd party claim their lawyers are "apparently" handling the claim .No feedback no emails nothing they don't call you back nor send any updates regarding your claim you literally have to call and follow up on them ,a load of incompetency.

Kindly note the first amount payable as noted on your policy, irrespective who was responsible for the accident, remains your responsibility and what you are liable for.
Our legal department will engage with the third party directly or through his/her insurer and if the merits is in Santam's favour, we will do everything possible to recover all costs incurred on this clai, which will include the excess as well.
Once we have succeeded with the recovery the excess amount would be refunded to you.
Please do note that there are no guarantee you will get your excess back, it all depends on the successful recovery.
We will however request an update from our legal department and appointed attorneys in respect of the recovery and to update you as well.
