Poor Santam approved repairer service

Please be informed that Glasfit in Umgeni Durban have provided me with ffg problems to replace my cracked vehicle Windscreen:

Santam Insurance Claim was registered on 11 March 2020. Claim no. is *** / Order no: *** for Glasfit Umgeni in Durban

Firstly, they have been in contact with me since last week Monday(16 March) , a lady by the name of Gugu(phone ***) , who ordered the glass. She claimed that the glass would arrive on that Friday (20 March) but it didn't.

Subsequently on Monday(23 March), i called them and was told that the glass that Santam specified was for the incorrect model and that they were awaiting an amended invoice from Santam regarding this. They did tell me that there was no reason to panic and that the glass will be here today, Wednesday (25 March).

Today i received a phonecall from Gugu that the glass has gotten damaged when transporting it from Jhb and that they are going to "try" to get a new one before tomorrow Thursday (26 March). I was also informed that Glassfit is closing tomorrow for the 21 day lockdown meaning if i dont get my glass, i will remain with broken windscreen for the duration of the lockdown. This is off course a safety issue as i have limited visibility when driving.

With this in mind, please can you advise me on the implications of me driving my car with a broken glass for 21 days- should Glasfit not be able to get a new one for me tomorrow. It is dangerous for my own safety to be driving around with a broken glass due to reduced visibility.

Please let me know what you recommend as the way forward because i am very disappointed and concerned.
