Pathetic Service
I have always received great servicer fromSantam in the past. But since the 5 November, I cannot believe it is the same company. The service is shocking. Are staff not trained properly. I asked for a quote on a vehicle last week. gave them my wife's policy number to put the quote on there. The guy did the quote on my wife's policy and emailed it to me. However, he undervalued the vehicle. i told them it was a facelift model, but he couldnt find it on the system. I then phoned Indwe as my wife's policy falls under them. Asked for a quote and got the same value of the vehicle. They told me there was no facelift. I disagreed and after he made 3 calls the Santam they eventually found the facelift. I then called the Broker who in sures my personal vehicle with Santam as underwriter and they gave me a quote immediately with the facelift value. Here are the quotes. Santam direct with value of R226000 R948.00 per month. Indwe R239500 R918.00 per month. My broker value R239500 R706.00 per month. So please explain how a broker can be R242. cheaper than Santam direct? All of them i have no excess. When I call Santam to ask why, the first ladt checks my wife's policy for the quote, then puts me thro to another ladty who will not help me as she wants to speak to my wife as the policy holder first before accessing the quote. But 2 others have accessed her policy without speaking to her. Well done Santam, you just lost a vehicle insrance and I'm busy getting quotes to move my wife's car.
Thank you for your email above and we truly am sorry to hear about your bad experience.
We cannot confirm at this stage why the premium quoted by Santam direct is more than R200 than the quote your received from your broker on your personal policy.
However, you mentioned Santam direct quoted on your wife's policy and her details as policy holder. When a quote is done on a vehicle, it's not only the value that affects the premium, various other factors come into play as well, such as age of driver, years driver had license, gender, previous claims etc.
You approaching your own broker to provide a quote on the vehicle, could have played a major part in the difference in premium -- your broker might have a large portfolio and mandate and can negotiate a better premium and also the quote was done on your policy, your details taken into account, driver's license, age, previous claims etc.
To be able to provide clear and concise feedback we would appreciate if you could provide us with your wife's policy number as well as your broker and policy details?
We thank you in advance.
