PAINSTAKINGLY SLOW REPAIRS - NO ASSISTANCE OR REAL EMPATHY FROM SANTAM
A relative's car was damaged during an attempted theft in the first week of January 2025. The car is still at the repairer; nearly 3 months after the incident. SANTAM has not offered any assistance and there has been no reduction in the insured relative's monthly insurance premiums.
This issue was raised with SANTAM yesterday. One of their assessing manager's responded as follows: the full premium is payable and the insured relative should lodge a complaint with the repairer. SANTAM can't help, sorry.
On its website, SANTAM purportedly prides itself in its value of care. It states: "Serving with empathy and consideration...".
SANTAM seems to be a good example of virtue signaling in the corporate sphere; claiming it deeply cares about its clients when experience has proved the contrary. LIGHTNING-FAST CAR INSURANCE, PAINSTAKINGLY SLOW REPAIRS AND VIRTUALLY NO EMPATHY #Thisisfrustrating
It is deeply concerning that SANTAM, without hesitation or consent, publishes its customers' personal information on a public platform. This is a flagrant violation of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. It would have sufficed for you to assert that the customer's information does not correspond with mine. The relevant data subject - your customer - should immediately be notified of the breach and his remedial rights, including the right to report SANTAM's ******** conduct in this regard to the Information Regulator.
Another highly troubling issue is SANTAM's misplaced priorities. You have clearly prioritized demanding a consent letter, thereby breaching a customer's privacy rights, instead of addressing the substance of the complaint and making a genuine effort to resolve it.
