One sided 2nd tracking device
Towards the end of November, I was notified that I have to install a second tracking device in my Toyota Hilux since it is a high-risk vehicle and that Santam has the stats to back it up. I disputed this with my broker since I own a V6 model and not a diesel. Out of experience in the community, the high-risk vehicles are the diesel models. Since the notification both my broker and I tried to get the stats from Santam on their one-sided decision. Every time I get a notification that it has been registered, and they will be in touch but absolutely nothing happens. CAS-***0-Z6W0B6. The 1st answer was: Policy/ID Number: *** The Hilux does form part of our high risk vehicles and therefor should be fitted with 2 X tracking devices. Your case has been resolved. Your unique case number for this request is CAS-***0-T4Y0X5. Do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information. Please refer to the possible security requirements, conditions, and exclusions in all the sections of the contract.

13 Dec 2024, 11:35Ok. Now they phoned my broker and told her the same story after it was said that they will contact me. I have been a client of Santam for 35 years plus!. They cannot even speak to me in person and in their communication, they said that "statistics" showed the high theft prevalence!

You claim to have statistics in terms of theft of the Hilux bakkies but when I enquired to the portion of the V6 Petrol models versus the diesel models, I got an email "no tracker no payment". I wrote a remark on Hellopeter to which various people commented including Stephan Olivier Client Care Manager. I do not agree with the content of his mail which still does not give me clarity of the split. From statistics on the web, as well as our local SPF every single one refers to the GD6 and D4D models, which are the diesel models and NOWHERE the petrol models are mentioned. Furthermore, I rep**** to Stephan and asked for a direct number in order to have a discussion on the issue. He ignored my request. Then I phoned and left a message to call me back. Again, he ignored my request. Now surely after 37years of a loyal client, one would expect not to be treated like this.
