No yellow umbrella to rely on.

On 21 June an insured of Santam hit into the side of my car, being blatantly at fault.

I made contact with their offices advising Santam that I was holding them liable for their insureds damage.

I was requested to provide the information and documentation, to their broker BroLink and all documentation was sent in full on the 26 June

This was emailed to BroLink on 26 June with no response.

On querying update from Santam I was told some of the documentation had not been received even though their documentation department kept emailing me telling they had received and documented everything.

It is now months without a resolution to the damage and settlement of my claim against Santam and all documents have been sent once more directly to them, specifically a Mr Walter Shiyane. Bearing in mind that their insured has made a claim against their motor policy and therefore Santam has effectively taken over all rights of their insured in handling this claim.

No great advert for the largest insurer in South Africa.

Thank goodness, there is a drought in Western Cape - No yellow umbrella to rely on.
